Tristar recommends that you only invest in worker compensation investigation when all signs point to a big payoff.

You are suspicious about a claim. Should you launch a full worker compensation fraud investigation, or should you hold off? Perhaps the case should be referred for worker compensation subrogation. Tristar’s unique Fraud Evaluator system produces objective data that supports you in making a decision. By helping you identify the most suspicious cases up-front, we bring the worker compensation investigation to a positive end more often. This translates into a bigger payoff on your subrosa surveillance investment.

First things first: Does this case call for subrosa surveillance?
Everyone knows the best time to use surveillance is when there is a high likelihood of fraud. And the best way to smell it out is with Tristar’s three-step Fraud Evaluation System, which lets you make a sound go or no-go decision after each step. By going through this process up-front, you increase the odds for success in each worker compensation fraud investigation.

  Fraud Diagnostic Module

The diagnostic phase includes weighted questions in 10 categories such as accident circumstances, applicant’s claim reporting, response to your initial investigations, medical treatment profile, and legal representation. If the claim is ripe for fraud investigation, you instruct us to go to step 2. This process can also help identify third parties and circumstances that that call for worker compensation subrogation.

  Background Check

This stage of worker compensation fraud investigation includes the claimant’s history (prior incidents of personal injury claims, workers’ comp, and/or other legal disputes); confirmation of addresses, Social Security number, vehicles and other factors. Only after this do we proceed to step 3.

  Field Assessment

We spend up to two days in the field performing pre-surveillance site research, activity checks and on site subrosa. Are there are any immediate signs of fraud? Is the claimant active? Do neighbors have tips? This final stage of worker compensation investigation gives you with the data to decide if additional subrosa investigation is indicated.

Background research: what we uncover before we go undercover.
The level of detail in our background research far surpasses the average background check done by other firms, who can waste time going after false leads or staking out the wrong address. Our thorough research not only uncovers data that aids in the defense of the claim, it also identifies cases ripe for worker compensation subrogation. The bottom line is through background research allows us to spend more productive time doing the field work that’s going to help you win.
